I think that the new Twice the Ice, Ice house is GREAT!! The people who own it were very friendly with showing me how it works and it was SOOO easy. I loved the ice too, it was soft and not too hard. It is beside Mr. Nobody and Milano's . I just could not believe the amount of ice you got for the price. I will NEVER buy ice at a convience store or grocery store again. James I live in unincorporated house also and have a rental house presently vacant, the basic rate used to be $5.75 and is now $7.00 if i never turn on water. And then the first x number of gallons fall under the basic rate rates, then over that useage the rate increases. A leaky faucet,a running toilet, and consistant leak somewhere can add up, running water while washing dishes, or to to do something and just let water run. Several factors can cause useage to be up, and warmer weather usually means more water used. Maybe be a leak underground between meter and house, I did have that once, and being homeowner I had to pay for plumber to repair pipes underground.

I'm trying to find a gentleman I saw on TV several days ago. His first name is Alvin, and I didn't catch his last name clearly (Grove, Groove, Clove,...???) He is 91 years old and said he's been preaching for over 70 years. I saw him on a Christian show (Benny Hinn), and he was amazing to listen to. Recently I drove by an area on Experiment St. and saw stacks of old tires behind a building. This is in the City limits of Griffin. I understand that having only one inspector makes it hard for her to ticket and assess every where. With the help of Spalding County residents we can help if you see a large amount of tires in businesses, yards or etc. if you contact the proper authority. I am not sure this is the right number, but I was given this number: 404-362-2671 it is suppose to be for waste tires. As many of you know old tires with water in them and dark and damp is breeding areas for mosquitos. Remember your neighborhoods can only be as clean as the people living in it allows. Same way with drug dealers. If you see them report them. Clean up your neighborhood. The government can only do so much.....most don't live in the bad sectors and so it not affecting them. "CLEAN UP YOUR OWN BACK YARD" is a great moto.

JAMES, There was only a 2.00 increase in bills, perhaps you have a leak some where. We have washer, dish washer, 1 shower,1 tub/shower, 2 toilets, 2 bath sinks,1 outside sink (for washing pets), plus what we use when cooking...our city of Griffin water bill runs and average of 15.00 a month. 4 kids and 2 adults

I was wondering if someone can tell me the difference between a person hooked on over the counter "speed pills", and other caffeine and other over the counter pills that give energy, and then the person takes prescribed pain meds or muscle relaxers, or "nerve" pills written for them or can "buy" illegally from friends or others to finally get sleep...or to "calm the nerves" compared to a person hooked on street drugs "ice","crack" "crank" or whatever the drug of choice is. To me the only difference it is legal to possess one group and not the other. My daughter is a street drug junkie but she manages to hold on to job for 3 years so far, But her brother-n-law whose wife is a over the counter drug user, expresses that my daughter is meaningless because of her addictions. She is open with her drug problem and doesn't hide it, where as the other thinks no one knows her dirty little drug addiction secret. He knows it, but ignores it. Their children 2 boys and a girl love their Aunt and likes to spend time with her, but the Father threathen to put them out of home for associateing with the aunt. Is there a difference in the addicts? Besides the drug of choice?

This is for people who live in Spalding Co. county residents allowed to have have outside burning. Outside burning permits will end in MAY this year. You need to get your tree limbs and brush down and burned.LOL Also I recntley was told I was responsible for "MY SMOKE" that comes from the burning debri. Make sure it does NOT go toward the inside of neighbors windows, and doesn't fog up roads. I also want to remind you to be considerate to those with breathing problems that live around you. AND PLEASE JUST BURN WOOD PRODUCTS like suppose to, I do know families who toss a tire or clothing or other items that's NOT suppose to be burned. Be sure to get your permit from Forestry Department.

Mr. Gresham, It is your choice if you choose NOT to call animal control. I am familiar with the area at the Spring Indus. Mills village (or Dundee or Kincaid) and I have seen that there is a lease law for that area. It is your legal right to call about these uncontrolled animals. You never know just by looking at first glance if the animal is rabid, or hungry, sick or what ever.It is a chance you are taking with your health and if you have family or friends there or visiting. Also I was informed a homeowner/ renter is responsible for animals on their property, and even if not your animal and you did nothing to discourage of gathering of these dogs, (calling animal control or something)You COULD be held liable for medical cost and punitive damage should someone get biten by these animals on your property. And the refuse I saw was near the corner of Elm st. and Chestnut st. raked to side of road.

Virginia, I see your point on th animals. I have had dogs chase andbark at me in my own yard,but I didn't call the pound, The closest to refuse I have noticed is these trash containers from small businesses being overfull and to close to the road, if not in the road.

i am a documentary filmmaker in LA seeking info on a guy who passes himself off as 'david bush". Mr. Gresham this is in response to comment you had to Teresa...I think a shed with building stuff in it in back yard is diffrent than garbage refuse beside a main street. I CAN understand the neighbor calling Animal control if you allow cat to run wild in neighborhood or even worse if you have more than maybe 2 wild cats living wild. If you have not had your cat spayed it is even worse.Or if you leave it outside all the time. Pets have to be taken care of like a child if you are going to claim them. Deflea them,kept feed,birthcontrol,shots,tags,vet bills if they get sick,plenty water, and lots of love. I don't know exactley what neighbor problem is but if animals tresspassing on their property that means someone not taking care of their pet.

PITBULL BUST-OUTRAGED! What an outrage, Mr.Holcomb was arrested 10 years ago for fighting pitbulls and was arrested again today. You would think someone would have kept an eye on this scum of the earth. Holcomb is a known pitbull fighter yet he has remained in business for years after he was arrested.50 pitbulls were conviscated with tears and rips all over their bodies. I love this breed and am tired of seeing these beautiful creatures abused. This is sickening and we must rally together to put an end to pitbull fighting.
