Wide open spaces.... that is what makes Pike County GA unique. More land than
people. While the entire county only covers 218.4 square miles, the largest of
the county's five towns, Zebulon, recorded only 1,181 residents in the last
census. This makes Pike County GA ripe for economic development at the same time
that American businesses are refocusing their strategies for growth.
Historically, the county has been an active agribusiness community. Today 96% of
the farms are privately owned; typically, these farms are considered large,
averaging 134 acres. Pike County values these beautiful, rolling hills and
intends to plan for growth that will protect their heritage.
